This funding campaign is also about encouraging art and education. Since its launch, many teachers, art schools, high schools, summer camps, and maker-spaces have approached us for a lower-cost version for young artists and budding makers. Have a look at Flipbook Facebook page to see the wild creations that people have made with their FlipBooKits.
“The original version of FlipBooKit was a bit costly to produce and that fancy black boxed version is still available at the FlipBooKit.com online store – but new designs and cost-saving ideas have been a near obsession for us.
The newly designed FlipBooKit components are now completely manufactured in the USA and we are proud of that fact. Most of our vendors are within a 100 mile radius. We hope to continue to be good local citizens (and good world citizens) as we strive to achieve the highest value / high quality product for a reasonable low price.”
1. New manufacturing
2. Lower Cost Products
3. Community Outreach for shows, schools and young creatives
FlipBooKit is from kinetic artists, Mark Rosen and Wendy Marvel. They create moving art that tells stories and tickles our sense of nostalgia. In late 2011, their series of motorized flipbooks based on the motion studies of Edweard Muybridge began touring with galleries, art shows and at special events internationally.
