We got to see the faces of the NYPD last night. They weren’t covered by riot gear or face shields. You could look into their eyes. Systems are made up of individuals who make choices. I wondered what some of these police officers were thinking. With the announcement that the entire force will go through a three day sensitivity training (we’ve been down that road before) will any officers decide to be leaders and try to change the culture of the NYPD or will the same patterns continue?
