Siren Elise Wilhelmsen is a young designer from Norway. In 2010 she won the Time to Design Award with the “Knitting Clock”. The Knitting Clock was design to measure and record the time in a traditional form. To describe and show the passing of the time, Siren uses a knitting machine that, through the movement of the minute and hour hands, makes a scarf
The clock is a true fusion between a Cuckoo Clock and a knitting machine, on loop every half hour, 48 in 1 day and in 1 year the clock knits a 2mt scarf!
Two other products, as clever as the knitting clock are the You+Me lamp and Parasitz, a mobile chair.
You + Me is a sort of wood and glass lantern, rechargeable through a dynamo battery, pulling a cord.
Parasitz, a mobile chair is flexible and you can fix it on to the trunk of a tree, it’s thought as an outside seat immerse in the nature.
