Photographer and Videographer Caro Patlis has been travelling all across South America for the past 6 months. She’s been documenting this amazing experience with her camera, keeping a “travel diary” online, lately featured on SUITCASE
Last month Caro and Alfonso, her travel companion, ended up volunteering for a month in an animal shelter in Bolivia. Caro recorded this experience in a sweet and compelling video…and here it is!
“The Refugee is located 2km away from Samaipata, on the way to San Juan, Bolivia.
It can be visited every day from 8am to 6pm.
Volunteers from all over the world are welcome with a minimum staying of one month.

After going to Film School at Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, she graduated from the Documentary Photography and Photojournalism program at the school of the International Center of Photography, New York City, in June of 2011. She won the “Sam Shahid” Scholarship as a reward for the series called Tony & The Crustypunks and was nominated for PDN’30 in 2011; in 2012 she won the PDN Ultimate Music Moment. Caro began her career as an intern for the brilliant Danny Clinch and shooting mainly for the Indie Music Scene between New York and Buenos Aires. She’s now currently based in Buenos Aires after 3 greatly productive years in New York.
